L'univers des sons

L’Univers des Sons teaches French pronunciation with stories that illustrate the relationships between graphemes and phonemes.

The series divides the learning process into discovery (series A) and exploration (series B). The objective of each is to learn grapheme-to-phoneme rules through stories, posters, and flash cards and develop aural memory by learning songs.

Each story features words with a particular grapheme and phoneme. The teacher’s guides suggest ways of using each story, such as projects for individual students and groups that can be adapted for three levels (preschool, first, and second year).

The collection follows a three-year structure:

            Preschool: simple sounds (Series A)

            1^st year: review of simple sounds (Series A) and introduction of complex sounds (series B)

            2^nd year: review of complex sounds covered in year 1 and introduction of additional complex sounds (series B)
