Sciences et Technologie - Perspectives 7 et 8

These resources were developed as an effective approach to teaching sciences and technology that allows active student participation and the possibility of drawing connections between society and the environment.

Advantages:

• These materials were developed and revised by science teachers from Ontario.
• Practical activities that can be easily done with every-day materials.
• Visual aids, oral communication situations, teacher-directed activities, student-centered activities, among other components, can be used to adapt the content to suit different learning profiles or types of intelligence.
• Support and differentiation tools: suggestions for gifted students, tools to help analyze and resolve the comprehension problems of exceptional students, support for students in the French as a second language program.

The components:

• A student textbook divided into four individual units
• Teacher’s guides for each unit provide pedagogical and evaluation tools for both generalists and teachers specializing in sciences
• A toolbox that describes skills and provides instructions
